I grew in Canada, in a northern British Columbian town called Tumbler Ridge until I was twelve when we moved to Nanaimo on Vancouver Island which is off the West Coast of BC.

This region of Canada is in an area called the Pacific Northwest. This area of Canada is known for its outstanding beauty and rugged climate.

 It includes breathtaking snowcapped peaks, dense impenetrable pine forests, and pristine wild coasts. It's winters are days of rain and slate gray skies and summers are hot and sunny.

 

 

 

I moved to Edinburgh, Scotland in 2020 and though I love it here I do miss the beauty of the Pacific Northwest.

I started making candles as I think everyone does initially, a hobby that allowed me to make gifts for friends and family. I began making candles with scents that reminded me of home, the aptly named Pacific Northwest, Rain Forest, etc, and decided I should share these with everyone so I began Black Bear and Pine in late 2022.

I hope you enjoy and find beauty in these candles as much as I do.
